I applied and got the message “Application Declined”. I looked on the FAQ’s and it said I’m allowed to re-apply though. I’m a freshman at a community college, I wrote a strong CV, and possess many EC’s indicating strong leadership. My academic background isn’t the best but that’s due to change. Any pointers on what I can do to get it right next time? I really want to make it to the second round for the interview. I know if I just get the chance for that, I’d ace it.

^lol…

@Unibames: I read somewhere on their websites that state they require applicants to be at least in sophomore standing. Maybe that’s why you got rejected?

Does anyone know if Goldman is willing to consider application from QUALIFIED/VERY QUALIFIED freshman, or they just simply ignore and reject it?

Yeah, you’re right about that GHJK. I guess all I can do for now is keep go on into my sophmore year keeping up the ec’s. Do you know how the application process goes and what they look for in applicants? I know the school they come from must mean a lot.

Hey i want to revitalize this thread because I’m waiting around after interviewing at the tri state consortium on Oct. 13 and I’m sooooo nervous! Is it really the case that we will not hear anything for two weeks? Has anyone from this year heard from them yet? I interviewed for both the Finance and Operations divisions at 30 Hudson.

Thanks!

ANYBODY interview with GS in October??

why is everyone so interested in operations? i thought this generated the least heat.

i advise everyone on here to go on wallstreetoasis and see what they think of ops over there…lmao

Yes I interviewed with the tri state consortium on the same day, but with compliance. I also have yet to hear back. I just want to know one way or another frankly. I’m not a business major so I won’t be heartbroken to be denied, but all this waiting is getting frustrating.

it’d be awesome if someone could post when they get an official rejection or an offer so that the rest of us can get a sense of GS’s timing on this

just wanna say i am jealous of the goldman tech infrastructure folks that get all the latest toys in order to evaluate platform performance and compatibility - e.g., cousin is running around with the latest 11.6" macbook air right now

Interviewed two weeks ago. I know a few people who received rejection e-mails within a week. I received an e-mail one week ago telling me that they’re still making decisions. Does anyone know how much longer to wait? Are they still conducting interviews? Anybody get accepted?

i haven’t heard of any acceptances yet. at least if there’s been rejections, it might mean that there’s good news in store for those that haven’t heard yet

what kind of technical questions are typically asked in the interview process?

I’m just starting to look into internships and while I know I can handle myself very well with the personal questions, I’d like to be able to prepare myself for the technical aspect of the interviews. Thanks

in my first rounds at GS, there were no technical questions unless they related to something you put on your resume. you should be able to immediately demonstrate any skill you claim to have on your resume

I interviewed on 11/9 and received the “on hold” email about a week later but no news since. Has anyone received notification regarding GS yet?

I had an interview Nov 2010 too! Got a mail from them telling me I’m ‘on hold’. Another person I know who came with me for the second interview in Salt Lake got rejected over the phone 2 days back though. Arghhh wish they’d just tell! They said it would take upto three weeks, so it technically has to be today!

Hi, I interviewed on Friday Nov. 12th, and I got the same "on hold " email the following Monday. Did you get in now?

Just wondering if you get in now? I received the same message.

Nope, got no call back as yet
I heard someone got a call this Monday though… Did you hear back at all/ heard about anyone else?
