this program is for sophomores and juniors. major is typically some kind of business major if you’re from a “non-core” school, but you can be almost anything if you go to an Ivy- in my experience, at least. Ivies, plus any other “core” school for Goldman, have a serious edge. As a Fordham student, I have to really work to get noticed, go to Goldman events, etc. but if you go to a core school, they’ll come to you.

Any leads to GS - Ops result this week? Going to be 3months soon, and still on hold. Goodluck to all of us who are waiting for the result.

Rhianna
I heard back at the end of December and was offered an internship in ops. I attend a SUNY school (state university in NY) and GS recruits at my school. Don’t know if that helps at all. Good luck!

Haven’t heard back as yet. Almost been three months. Did any of you’ll waiting too get two on-hold e-mails? I didn’t get the second one. Did you’ll intern for full-time or summer internships?

i didnt get the second onhold email either- interviewed for summer analyst.

I am in the same position as you ‘needajob’. I too dint get any second hold email. But online status shows ‘under review’ even now for full-time ops position. Hope we hear from them soon.

i interviewed in october so its been 4 months for me … for summer ops internship.

I got a 68% average in AP bio today for second quarter im really scared and i don’t know what to do…will this greatly affect my dreams of getting into uconn pharmacy? plus i got a C last quarter. :(((( i am really really nervous

Did you contact them at all since then? I wonder when we’l know :(

i emailed htem in november asking for an update and they said i’ll find out in late december. for those of you who dont know, its FEBRUARY NOW! what is going on …

Yah I did follow up in Dec and got a reply that I will be hearing shortly. This word ‘shortly’ does not define a time frame. Cant blame! What worries me is: They are already in campus for spring recruitment.

same here jumbie. they are coming up next week to my school for spring recruitment - for operations as well. are they going to just dump us and look for newer faces? should we reapply if we are on hold right now? how about applying to another division? what do you guys htink?

i dont think we should re-apply-- my take is that we weren’t their last choice–hence no rejection-- but we also weren’t their first choice. we probably won’t hear one way or the other until they’ve finished interviewing everyone-- for another month, im thinking. i am personally considering offers from other firms because I think that Goldman’s handling of this is unprofessional.

that’s true, and it’s very discouraging when we don’t have other offers to consider too.

my bad! They’r coming to campus only for summer analyst position. This might be a good sign for full time applicant.

Any updates?

I was a Civil Engineering student and did the Goldman Salt Lake Ops intern last summer. I wrote a review of my experience with the internship.
[Goldman Sachs Operations Review](http://www.thefreshbiz.com/2011/02/15/goldman-sachs-operations-review/)

I hope this helps you all get a good feel for what the internship was like.

goldman is holding interviews again at my school even though they interviewed 30 kids last semester and half of them are still on hold right now … they’re also inviting students from my school for the women’s/diversity conference when they held that three months ago … i have no idea whats going on in their minds.

would it be unprofessional if i applied for the same position again even though i interviewed 4 months ago and am still on hold?

if goldman doesn’t contact you back after an interview, can you assume that you should move on? i guess it’s only been a little under two weeks for me, but i just wanted to see what the general consensus about this was so i can be prepared.

Gadli-- I do not think there is any clear cut answer to this question as you can probably see from this thread. A friend of mine interviewed for a SA position in early November and did not hear back until late January regarding a second interview. It seems that every case is different, so you should not give up hope, but also recognize that it is important to keep your options open if GS doesn’t work.
