Operations Research - Cornell vs Columbia

I am applying to Cornell for Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and Columbia for Financial Engineering. I want to work in finance after school. I know that Columbia is in NYC which is a big advantage for a financial career. The thing is I am a transfer student and would probably have to overload a semester or two to graduate in four years from Columbia. Is the location of Columbia worth overloading courses? How is the recruiting at Cornell by financial institutions?

If I got into both, where should I go?

Anyone have any advice?

you cant go wrong with either school

I prefer Cornell over Columbia for engineering...but that's just a personal preference.

Visit both and go where you feel like you fit in.

Well Cornell has the best engineering out of any ivy. GL w/ admissions, both r great schools. You should probably post again once u get accepted to them.

financial engineering - columbia. easier, higher grades, lots more opportunities with recruiters. i had a choice between the two and chose cornell. and now im at AEM.

Columbia doesn't have higher grades. Average engineer GPA is 2.75 I heard- although operations research, being an easier major, should be sig. higher.

Both are good. Cornell is known for Engineering though.
