Operations Research - Cornell vs Columbia

I am applying to Cornell for Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and Columbia for Financial Engineering. I want to work in finance after school. I know that Columbia is in NYC which is a big advantage for a financial career. The thing is I am a transfer student and would probably have to overload a semester or two to graduate in four years from Columbia. Is the location of Columbia worth overloading courses? How is the recruiting at Columbia and Cornell by financial institutions comparatively?

If I got into both, where should I go?

With this objective, you should go to Columbia.

This is an impartial and informed opinion.

Really.

Both recruiting are good but Columbia has an edge due to its physical proximity to wall-street (internships and stuff) in addition to a large alumni base on wall street and less people competing with you (compared to cornell).

iono how true this is, but one of my friends at CC a senior told me that she doesn't know any friends who have wanted a finance job that couldn't find one.

With a little digging and some extra effort it is alllmmmost assured you can find an internship, which is a gateway to a good business job after graduation.
