I would like to know what the best operations research schools are out there. I was really attracted to USC's operations research program. Is that any good? I wasn't able to find a thread of admission statistics, gpa requirements, and gre score for OR schools so posting about that would be much appreciated!

It depends. What do you want to do? I you more interested in the math like developing interia point methods for solving linear programming problems? Or are you more interested using OR to solve pratical problems. Different schools have different strengths so the best school for you may not be the best for everyone.

Have you checked the INFORMS education page? It has links to a couple of rankings lists. Standford, Cornell, and GA Tech always seem to do well. [ORMS Educational Programs / INFORMS Student Union / Build Your Career / IOL Home - INFORMS.org](http://www.informs.org/Build-Your-Career/INFORMS-Student-Union/ORMS-Educational-Programs)

I am more interested in linear programming/ optimization and all that good stuff. What colleges should I apply/aim for to guarantee a great job?

when I went to grad school for OR the schools you listed were considered top OR grad schools … and MIT, Michigan, and Cal were also listed among the top schools. That was many-many moons ago.

What do you guys think about USC’s Operations Research program? Advantages? Disadvantages?
