Operations Research or Economics

HI,
I am trying to decide between these two majors. In Cornell, we really don't have a busines school. ORIE is in the Engineering school which would entail taking many cutthroat math/science/cs courses to affiliate. Whereas Economics is more flexible (8 courses to get a degree) and is in a more flexible school - Arts and Sciences. I trying to determine whether Operations Research is closer to finance and is it worth taking the arduous classes?

Do AEM. It should be enough. Take the finance classes, accounting, the useful stuff.

AEM is considered the business program. That's the best way to get into business, but economics at an ivy league school isn't bad at all.

Since AEM is the easiest major in Cornell, many students trying to transfer into that department The thing with AEM is that there are some required Agribusiness courses that look at the business of agriculture and etc. It seems that the program emphasizes management and a bit of entrepeneurship not finance really.

Besides, I'll feel really stupid if i'd do AEM since I passed up NYU Stern to go to Cornell :(

at least you are attending an ivy league school, nyu stern is not in the same athletic conference.
