hey guys what do u think about the following coll in terms of class size, quality of teaching and accessibility of faculty

which one?

Your list could stand expanding. I think you’re playing it rather safe… I doubt any of the schools you’ve listed will reject your application. Then again, you’ve not listed any schools I’m familiar with.

oh im so sorry so stupid of me i am asking about RPI, CASE WESTERN , BU ,ohio state

all are very good…the first two being better than the last two in terms of your criteria

good to hear because i was really aiming for them but was little discouraged to see that princeton review includes these coll in the list of coll where prof get low marks

^the book is called “the best 371 colleges”…that about that

yes sigilo21 that book only. they have rated every coll and apart from that created lists like best dorms, class discussions encouraged etc and ranked coll.

ppl please do post ur reviews

it’s the BEST 371 colleges; it does not contain all 2000+ four year institutions in the U.S.

and there is a lot of controversy surrounding the princeton review surveys…

RPI is very good, and has very strong programs in engineering, and has good research oppertnities (its ranked in the top 20 for undergrad engineering schools I belive). Case western is very ovverated. BU is pretty ok. I vaguely recall ohio state being good.

I wouldn’t say Case Western is overrated, especially in areas like Computer Science. Case is very good. I only know a handful of grads from Case, but they have all been very intelligent and competent engineers.

I agree with other posters that all of those schools are really good, but if you are interested in engineering, RPI is one of the best in the country. RPI (and other smaller programs like Rice and Princeton) actually tends to be underrated because of its size.

The great thing about RPI is that you are in a smaller school setting, surrounded by brilliant students (25th - 75th percentile SAT for class of 2013 is 1270 - 1450) while having access to world class instructional/research facilities normally only found at much larger schools.

thanks i think RPI wins over all of them but how is the faculty at RPI(i meAN how do they teach n are they accessible for undergrad)) and how does it compare with other coll listed
