Opinion on SAP Appeal Letter.

Hello everyone
I'm sending off a letter for an appeal on SAP and just wanted to see what you guys thought of the letter. I tried not to add any drama into so I apologize if there is any in the letter. Just some suggestions maybe if needed would be very nice.

Hello SAP Committee,

My name is (name). I’m currently about to start my second year at Wharton County Junior College in Sugar Land, Texas. This year, I hope to finish out most of my other classes to transfer on to University of Houston and continue my courses to get a degree in Computer Engineering. I write this letter in concern of my Financial Aid Status. Entering into college in general for the first time of my life was definitely an experience for me. For the first semester, everything wasn't easy. During the time of the first semester, I felt like I was going to fall apart. Working along with school was hard for me and I had trouble trying to combine the two. I decided to drop two classes the first semester and to this day, I regret doing that. I had less stress on my classes along with work but with dropping two classes out of the four, it really put a dent on my school information and my sense of self. In high school, I hated giving up. If I were to receive a bad grade or a grade that was considered passing but still not that great, I would take the retest if it was offered. Dropping two classes made me realize I had given up and that’s not who I am. I had passed my remaining classes with C’s. I was not excited about that, especially with the fact I had W’s on my transcript.

Second Semester came in, my seasonal job was done and classes started. I moved on from my beginner algebra class and took 3 more classes along with that. I took all 4 classes without giving up and dropping them. My grades were iffy but I hanged in there. The only problem was that I couldn't move on to the next level of math. I couldn't accept that. I decided to retake my compass admission test (Math portion only). I believed I could have done better in my math since my major is Computer Engineering so I went ahead and retested. Studying hard and not giving up is my goal for this upcoming school year and to start that goal, I studied every day and every night to pass my compass test. Last year, I scored a low score (23) and was placed in beginner algebra but with enough studying, I managed to get a score higher than 49. This upcoming year, instead of retaking intermediate algebra, I will be taking College Algebra. This is just the first step to success for me. By getting a second chance, I would do the same thing I would do on my tests as I did on my compass test. I know what to expect as this is not high school anymore. This upcoming year, I plan on working and doing school on a level where it will not stress me out any longer. In closing, I thank you guys for taking the time to ready my appeal.
