Opinions about Lake Forest or Regis?

Lake Forest kids like to party with alcohol definitely being utilized as a social lubricant. However, from what I've been able to garner is that students tend to fall into two distinct contingencies. One, which seems to be composed of the majority are those who are too lazy to venture off campus, and primarily just attend campus parties, which solely focus around getting drunk. Many students though take advantage of the schools proximity to Chicago, which means access to numerous restaurants/clubs/cultural events. Supposedly students who tire of Chicago will head up to Milwaukee, which is only about 1hr away. However, going to these places does require some effort, and most students tend to venture out at night.

The town of Lake Forest is DULL. No way getting around that. However, it is pretty close to Highland Park which has a small downtown area, and is roughly 30 minutes away to Evanston. Northwestern is in Evanston, and Evanston can almost be considered like a small city.

Hope that was helpful!

Torn you live in a beautiful city.
Summer of 1980-no bars or fast food in Lake Forest.I remember people asking me if I would return to Lake Forest after graduation-I always said I didn't think I could ever afford it.One of the small bordering towns had tons of bars, the four of us (all female pharmacy interns at Abbott labs) used to hang out, write letters home, play cards, buy a few cheap drinks, more what I imagined a pub would be. There was an Italian restaurant-something like Score no vak e o's? that we loved. We lived in the dorms at Barat college and had use of a company van. Son had no desire to check out Chicago after he saw pictures of snow at a North Western meeting.
