Opinions about Top Tier Schools?

Honestly, I think that Harvard is overrated. I def applying to Stanford, Princeton and others, but I’m not sure if I will attend if I get accepted. So many things to worry about in the future. Life truly sucks.

@awakeningvenus‌ - If you got into Harvard, you would not be incurring huge debt - Harvard has a massive endowment and is very well known for their generosity. The only way you’d be paying even close to full freight is if your parents made an upwards of 300k a year - in which case, college tuition wouldn’t be too drastic of an expense.

Haha, the future definitely sounds more exciting than high school though.

@awakeningvenus‌ Eh. Elementary school was the best where you had to worry about nothing and you could naps all day.

Yeah - thats another thing - I actually was admitted to the other schools - it isn’t as if the school I’m going to was my only option - far from it; it was just the most financially sound - so that’s certainly going to be a source of some confidence this fall.

Good point. If I were to get in, as unlikely as that is, I would surely look more into the finances that would go into it. It’s just scary to see the admission costs as they are online. You know, maybe Hawkace was right, the future looks scary.

I remember nap time in Pre-School! I swear, little kids won’t know how good they have it until they’re n high school. Haha, I always laugh when my brother calls a book that’s longer than twenty pages a “chapter book.” At what age did they just become “books”? Nostalgia.

I really have no idea where I’m going to apply, but I haven’t started seriously looking at colleges yet. I do think that I’ll apply to some schools in the top 25, maybe some ivy leagues if they’re good fits. I like challenging myself and I don’t want to leave any “what ifs” by not applying to some reaches if I really like them. The prestige of the school can help a lot in getting a job, and I would feel lucky to get such a great education. However, I think I could have a great college experience with state schools. I’ll probably apply to a few depending on the financial situation when I apply.

I got into a top 30 school and there’s no way that I’m going. I’ve dreamed about going to a top-10 school since I was a kid and even though I got rejected from the ones I wanted to go to, I won’t have any ‘what-ifs’. I know where I stand in the grand scheme of things and I honestly couldn’t be more proud. Even if I wind up going to my state uni (the lowest ranked of all my acceptances), I can walk away from all of this knowing that I did wind up with a great acceptance. Always try, otherwise you’ll never know.
