I'm new to the forum, and I'm sure that there are other threads on this same topic, but my situation is somewhat unique so I was wondering if I could get some input or at least be pointed in the right direction.

I got my SAT scores back today after taking them for the first time. 690 on CR, 680 on Math, 710 on Writing (10 on the essay) for a combined score of 2080. I was kind of disappointed, because I expected to do better. I'm pretty much a straight-A student with a 4.0 unweighted GPA in the top 10% of my class (which includes a whole lot of geniuses). My SAT scores fall within range for most of the schools I'm interested in, but they are competitive schools so I want my SAT scores to be above and beyond that range. I didn't use a tutor before my first test because I didn't really think I needed one, but after my SAT scores went down from my PSAT scores (2110 equivalent) and I am generally unhappy with my performance, I want to seriously consider getting a tutor.

One of my very close friends, who got a 2330 on the SAT his first time, used a Princeton Review tutor and felt it was very helpful, especially on the Writing and Math sections. I know they are quite pricey, but that isn't really an issue. After looking through the information, I think a private tutor will be the best option, as I will be spending the summer away from home training (competitive athlete). Although I haven't spoken with Princeton Review yet, it sounds like they are pretty good about working around your schedule and customizing something that works well for you.

So, I am basically looking to find out if people have generally had success with the Princeton Review tutors. Also, they offer 3 levels of private tutors (Premier, Master, Standard - I think), and I was wondering which type would be best for me if I am looking to raise my score to at least a 2200.

All comments would be much appreciated, so thanks in advance!
