Pros? Cons? Acceptance rate seemed very high so was wondering if it is even a good school for business.
It is not just good, it’s excellent. Don’t let the acceptance rate fool you. Acceptance rate is high because they don’t get flooded with applications like many other schools. The only people who apply are those looking to study business at a small, very modern campus in New England. They don’t get applicants for liberal arts or engineering, or looking for the big school experience, or city living experience, or chasing the illusion of prestige.
Their grads come out with good job placement, and very well prepared for the business world. Business icon Jack Welch, former longtime CEO of General Electric, famously said some of the best executives he worked with came from schools like Bryant. I personally know Bryant grads who are currently:
VP of Tax for Fortune 500 company
VP of major Wall Street firm
Managing Director of retirement plans at mutual fund giant
Bond portfolio manager for giant insurance company
Managing Director of securities risk management company
VP of cargo sales for major airline
National VP of sales for giant furniture manufacturer
Regional VP of sales for aircraft manufacturer
CEO of aircraft parts distributor
President of payroll company
Tax attorney
Plus several successful financial advisors and other executives.
I honestly know no one from Bryant who has not been successful.
It is a very good school. The acceptance rate is irrelevant in this case. It would be among the best undergraduate Accounting schools in the northeast. Just be mindful of the gender imbalance.
