Hey! So I was just wondering overall opinions of Clemson! Of everything: dorms, people, food, life there, etc. Thanks!

lol are you kidding me? Try and be a little bit more specific? I could write a novel on this haha

From The Princeton Review

Located in sunny South Carolina, Clemson University is “the total package: challenging academics, beautiful campus, sports, a thriving Greek life, Southern edge, and that extra something that just makes me excited to be here every morning when I wake up.” “Nowhere else feels more like home,” says another student. Clemson students are especially bullish on the scholarships the university offers. “The value is unbeatable.” However, students do note that the strong Greek life at the school can be “overwhelming” and that parking services and transportation can be “a nightmare.” Students have high opinions of the Clemson faculty. “I feel like my academic experience is extremely dynamic, and I truly enjoy going to class.” “Even the two or three [professors who] are not effective teachers still do their best to make sure the students get the information they need to be successful.” “Forget Walt Disney World. This is the happiest place on earth,” one student brags. “Clemson’s greatest strength lies in the sense of community it fosters and the opportunities for development that it offers to its students.” A finance major sums up his experience: “At Clemson, I’m earning a respected degree working alongside the leading researcher in my field, gaining valuable leadership experience while serving the community, and having the time of my life with my best friends. What’s not to love?” Clemson students have a bond, a happy student notes. “I have made so many connections with others because we both attended Clemson.” Clemson is “not a hot spot of diversity by any means,” and “your typical student is Southern, Christian, and somewhat preppy.” That doesn’t mean that students from different backgrounds can’t fit in. “Although Clemson is a ‘jock school’ with a somewhat homogeneous student body, most people are pleasant, and you can easily enjoy your college experience.” Another student relates that, while most students are Southern and religiously conservative, “as a non-religious student from the North, I’ve felt welcome here and have loved every minute of my experience.” With the school’s large Greek life, “there is a definitive line between Greeks and non-Greeks.” The dominant student fashion is “preppy, preppy, preppy! With camo.” “Honestly, as long as you wear orange on Fridays and love your Tigers, you’ll fit in just fine.” Students at the school take both their social and academic life seriously. “For the most part, Clemson students go out looking preppy on Saturday night, dress up for church on Sunday, and roll into class wearing sweats on Monday morning.” We bleed orange! a sociology major says, referring not to any kind of bizarre skin condition, but rather to the student body’s “Tiger pride” in Clemson athletics. “Sports are king” at Clemson, and much of student life revolves around attending and tailgating at sporting events, especially football. “I never anticipated how much people love their Clemson football,” one impressed student notes. This atmosphere can be slightly off-putting to students less interested in athletics. “I think Clemson isn’t the most cultured school,” one student laments. “The general students would prefer to tailgate and watch football than attend an orchestra concert.” However, watching sports isn’t the only thing Clemson students do. Like at any school, “people hang out with their friends… party, and have fun.” Students “love the fact that our school is located on one of the state’s biggest freshwater lakes, minutes from the mountains, and not far from the beach. It’s the ideal place to live.” “Clemson has more than 300 organizations,” one student notes, “meaning that nearly everyone is involved in something.” Clemson is known as something of a party school, and “Greek life…has a lot of influence.” The laid-back Southern atmosphere pervades Clemson, and “everyone is so happy and friendly!” “The town of Clemson is not very big and is very much a college town,” with all the pros and cons that entails.
