Hey,
I’ve just been curious on other’s perspective on high school work ethic. With college acceptances coming out, I’ve noticed that people with amazing class ranks, SATs, and extracurriculars are getting denied from top tier schools, even though they’re undoubtedly more competitive than many of the accepted students. Now, these people are very hardworking, but I wouldn’t say their efforts aren’t really being matched with a “reward” of equal value (i.e. getting into an Ivy/Stanford/other very competitive school). These people will most likely end up going to good schools, but these places aren’t nearly as competitive as the “dream” schools, nor do they require as much effort to get into. So, this makes me wonder: is it really worth it to try your hardest in high school, even if you could have put in half the work you did and still have gotten into the school you end up committing to? Thanks guys.
