I will be entering fall of 2014 as a freshman and I was wondering which dorm is better for a freshman. Im in COE, so Warren is closest, most convenient and probably have the best chances of making other freshman friends, but im not a big fan of the whole floor sharing a bathroom thing. 575 Commonwealth is probably my 2nd choice but its a bit farther and less convenient than Warren but I don’t mind sharing a bathroom with a couple other people. My third choice is either The towers or kilachand hall, though i’ve heard that they’re more sophomore oriented.
Any opinions from past freshmen?

I lived in West my freshman year and Towers my sophomore year so I can help out a little. Warren is the typical large dorm. It’s big, its ugly, its convenient (dining hall without getting changed and late nite cafe tell 1 or 2am… can’t remember). It will have a party scene somewhat, though not as big as West. It’s a shared bathroom and the rooms are kinda small, the whole community bathroom thing really becomes not a big deal… at least it never was for me. 575 is typically referred to as Hojo amongst the student body, the second floor are doubles and the rest are triples. I have heard that hojo has really small triples and usually the more desirable 2nd floor goes fast. I’m pretty sure each room has their own bathroom. Towers is probably like Warren lite. It’s not as social and mostly sophomore with a good amount of freshman and the halls are all single sexed (the only male single sexed floors I think). The rooms are also fairly small. It has a decent location pretty close to the Bay State dining hall it also has community bathrooms. Kilachand is mostly the honors college now and its suite style living. I haven’t really been in to it besides the study lounge which has a killer view. I hear its really nice though.
