I am planning on going to college in the ext two years, and I really like Kettering University. I plan in majoring in mechanical engineering and working in the auto industry as am engineer. I really like Kettering's academics, as well as their co op program and strong ties to the auto industry. But I have a few questions and want your opinion.

How is the Campus Safety, considering it is in FLINT, Michigan?

Is it worth the high price tag?

Any OTHER OPINIONS about Kettering are welcome, along with alternate schools.
Thank you!

D HS class of 13 visited Kettering early on in her college search. She liked it but chose not to apply. First she wanted to study Chem E and at the time they were waiting on their ABET acrreditation for that major. It was also rather small in that she came from a HS with 2700 students. Because of the fact that half the student wuld be co-oping at any one time ther would only be about 900student on campus. She also wanted to continue playing in an orchestra and that wasn’t possible. She liked the friendliness and the interest of the staff and students, the mandatory co-op and study abroad opportunities. We discussed the fact that it was in Flint MI, however, I think that was not a factor in her decision not to apply. Good luck in your decision. If you liked Kettering consider Rose Holman in Terre Haute Indiana. Slightly larger, very undergraduate focused and in a much nicer community and much higher ranked for what that is worth. D did not apply there either for some of the same reasons.
