<p>Yes, I would plan on getting into Psy 106 second semester and drop 101. Psy 101 is often a large lecture course that many students take to fulfill N and M credits. Class size is in the 200 plus range. In the past 2 semesters the avg grade is about a C+/B- for many sections. It is higher for the section Vlachos-Weber taught (3.3). </p>
<p>I would drop 101 and wait to get into 106. Even if you are wait listed for the course when you register later in the year for second semester, be sure to sign up for the wait list. That’s how my D ended up in the class. Although the average student GPA is higher in 106, the average grade is higher also (3.8 the most recent semester)</p>
<p>Also, a further bit of advice: don’t be afraid to take more than one honors course at a time. My D and many others here really found the professors to be more approachable and classes smaller. Hutton likes to discourage more than one honors course, but many of D’s friends (in Hutton) take/took two or more with few problems.</p>
