Opinions on schools for film please?

So I must make my college decision this week. I've been accepted into 5 schools:
SVA
SUNY Purchase
Drexel U
University Of the Arts in Philadelphia
Long Island U: CW Post

Film is going to be my major, except for Purchase, where I got into Cinema Studies instead. My family urges me to not make a decision based on money, and I'm unconcerned about dorming or not. I was wondering, could anyone give me some feedback based on the film (or cinema studies) programs at this school, the environments, etc? Thank you guys =)

You might want to ask your question in the Film majors sub forum. Here is the link: [Visual Arts and Film Majors - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)

What is SVA? Are you planning on working in film, or are you interested in writing about it/being an academic?

Ah ok, thanks! And SVA is school of visual arts, and for now I want to try a bit of every aspect of film

Have you been able to visit any of them? We just visited Drexel with our son and were very impressed with the program. It looked like you could take courses in many aspects of film, depending on what you end up interested in. You also do a 6 month co-cop and some of the places mentioned seemed interesting. It is right in the city, if that interests or bothers you at all. We had a very extensive tour of the film department, and everyone we met spoke very enthusiastically about the program. We have not been to any of the others on your list so I can’t compare Drexel to them. Good luck!

Thanks, good luck to you guys too! Yeah I’ve been to them all. Drexel and SVA were the two that really impressed me actually, they’re my top two to decide from. I guess because SVA is in Manhattan it’s a plus for the area. I think I might be going there…
