<p>I have heard many people say that UCI engineering is more theoretical and Cal State is more application based. I would like to start some sort of discussion based along these lines. </p>
<p>For instance I am accepted to Cal State University of Fullerton, but I am awaiting word on University of California Irvine. Are the enginnering programs between the two schools that different?</p>
