A couple years ago I hit my piano because I was angry about not being able to play a song despite practicing for hours. One of the keys hasn't worked since because there's no one around who can repair it. This has taught me important lessons blah blah blah. (I like this one, but it might make me sound annoying, as in, "Oh no! I broke my expensive piano when I was a bratty kid!")

Hi there. All of these seem lovely, in my humble opinion! My favourite is the first one – so much potential for (well placed) humour and whimsy. Best of luck x

I think the subway one and the carnival one have the best potential to write a unique, detailed, engaging narrative. The last one could also work if you have some specific moments to describe. My suggestion is to start writing a couple of them, or make an outline, and see where they take you. I did that when I had a lot of ideas. A couple of them fell flat or I got stuck, a couple of them worked, and one of them turned into a great essay. Good luck!

It is not the topic, it is what you do with the topic.

The best topic for you is the one that allows you to write your most personal, detailed/specific, revealing essay. The one that is so halcyonheather that only you could write it.

People online are not in a position to know which topic is best for you.

There is excellent advice here:
