So I'm fiddling with the last bit of add/drop schedule fixing, and I'm stuck on what to do. I'm signed up to take Organic Chem Lecture this semester, and then my advisor also told me to take the PHYS 1101 class (the autotutorial one). I need to get it out of the way for vet school admissions, and I wasn't originally worried about it because I took two years of IB physics back in high school and I figured I could handle teaching myself it on top of dealing with Orgo. Then today, one of my friends that went to the bio transfers department info sessions said they told them NOT to take both Orgo and Physics since the workload is too hard. What are your all opinions on this? Is it really that tough?? Also, I'm taking the Equine Biology & Management lecture and lab this semester which I hear is also hard.. Is this a bad idea?

Also while we're on the subject, is it better to take Orgo Lab first or second semester? I wanted first originally and I heard that it might be easier second semeseter...

I took animal physiology, orgo, orgo lab and autotutorial physics together during my first semester at Cornell. Talk about baptism by fire :)

In all honesty, it wasn’t terrible. The first few weeks were rough, but after the first round of exams I was able to figure out a study schedule that worked for me.

I can only speak second-hand, but I’ve heard tutorial physics really isn’t that bad. It’s basically high school level physics (maybe AP Physics B at best), so if you’ve taken IB, you’ve pretty much already learned the material. I did just check for you, and if you scored a 6 or 7 on the IB Physics exam, you place out of Physics 1101, 1112, or 2207. I have no idea what your exact requirements are though and maybe you still need to take a physics course to fill your major/pre-med requirements. If that’s the case, check with your adviser and see if you can get away with Physics 1101 (which should be easy for you) or take 1102, the next level physics.

I too am taking Orgo, 1st-year Physics (2207) and Evolution (Biology). I had planned on taking Linear Algebra as well and hoped to get a job. Does this sound like a big workload to you guys (people who have done both classes before)? Thanks.
