Well I am Planning on doing a philosophy major along with my Pre-law.
How useful is a philosophy major in the real world?
What type of industry could I work on?

Ancient Greece.

But really, there is no specific real world application of a philosophy major. You’re certainly not going the job title “Philosopher”. The only situation where you would be working directly with philosophy is if you became a philosophy professor, which is certainly a possibility if that’s what you’re interested in.

A focus in philosophy will give you a valuable perspective and skill-set but it will not prepare you for any particular job. In that respect it is not very different from any liberal arts major. Law school is also a fairly common destination for philosophy majors, and since you’d also be majoring in pre-law I assume that law school is your goal. I think any career-preparation major, like pre-law, can be very successfully paired with a philosophy major to enrich your education experience and provide a more well-rounded job application or grad school application, whichever the case may be.

Best non-quantitative major available. Don’t expect jobs to come easy, but it is outstanding preparation for graduate school.
