what else should i try to accomplish guys, i think this is possible but i know i have to work hard. im applying as a creative writing major fyi. im also taking the optional interview. any help?

USC is a gigantic reach for you--but who knows for sure? Your upward trend definitely helps. (just realize the overall average of acceptees is about 3.6 to 3.7)

Do you have leadership in any of your ECs? For example, did you run the yearbook staff and also handle sales while in charge of the literary magazine, were you the captain of your local football or lacrosse team, etc.?

Look, USC won't be recruiting you for football since they get their pick of candidates (and you haven't mentioned being one of the recruited ones--which they would have already contacted you on by now). USC isn't big in lacrosse. And the other stuff you mentioned just won't cut it for admittance in my view.

You should consider the other schools you'd like to attend, and then consider transferring. For example, you have a real chance at UC Riverside--and USC took quite a few transfers from UC Riverside this year. So go there for two years and then transfer.

Anyway, I understand your love for USC--my own son will be applying there as a transfer candidate this coming January--because he really enjoyed his visit there this summer, despite the "tough" neighborhood surrounding the school.

Best of luck to you.

well i've had the opportunity for several leadership roles in my highschool years. i was JV captain sophomore year on football and we had the greatest record a JV team has ever had at 8-1. i was a sub chairman (1 of 5) for McDonalds week in junior year where i helped orchestrate a week long community service program and helped raise over 13,000 dollars for charity. i was elected senior class secretary and have already help organize the senior auction, retreat, and smaller events with the other student officers. im co president of the chapel committee and was recently approached about being the visual arts staff editor for the schools nationally recognized literary magazine. i was also appointed to lead in designing and ordering the classes senior shirts which are worn by faculty staff and the seniors every friday. in conclusion, i would say my personality, ECs, and work ethic will be strong in my application. if i can pull off a great interview maybe i can slide into spring admit. what else can i do?
