Opinions?

Hey
I went to a high school in the states but it's a little different.
It's located in the US but it's a Japanese high school to get into a Japanese university. So the difficulty of the work is very different. Japanese is taught at a Japanese high school level and English is taught at a normal American standard- it's pretty tough.
But they do figure out GPAs.
It's out of 4.0 unweighted, but getting a WEIGHTED 3.8 is pretty unbelievable.
I think I got around 3.4~3.5 weighted (not certain), but got in the top 10%, honor roll, NHS- doesn't sound too bad ey.
But when you look at my report card, there are B's and sometimes C's, so I probably look a lot worse, even though it's common.
I did get into one of the best Engineering department of the most prestigious private university in Japan (engineering there is ranked about 3rd in the nation), but quit because I wanted to study business or international relations in the US.

SAT scores are
CR 650
Maths 800
Writing 600
(Going to take SAT1 again in October to boost the CR and Writing scores)

Maths II 790
Chem 800

And English isn't my first language.

Would like to see myself at a the top college, but would the administration offices think I'm an average student who just fluked the SAT?

Opinions please!

Your English is very good by the way :). Your SAT score is really good already, but retaking it wouldn’t hurt at all. I doubt the admission officers would think you flunked the SAT. You’re not average, so get that out of your head lol ;). I think you’re fine.

well give us an idea of what schools you are thinking about when you say “top”

chance me btw? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1367233-chance-top-20-schools.html

I can see your predicament. When you apply I would make sure that the Adcoms understands the nature of grading at your school. Maybe a letter or counselor note or something?

Btw I didn’t make a typo; the word is “fluked”. It means that the results were solely by luck. Maybe it’s an Australian term?

Keep them coming please

bump

Lol, I’m sorry, I misread the word “fluked” I though it said flunked lol :o
