Hey Everyone....
I was wondering if you could help me out a bit. I have an interest in history and law, and would like to convey that through extracurricular activites, but I dont know how. I attend a very small private school that has a limited number of extracurricular clubs and groups. Just like everyone else I want to stand out by my interests to the ivy league admission officers. I appreciate any help that you can provide. Thank You!

get a job at your town's court? or a job in a lawyers office? And for godsake pick ECs because you want to do them not because you want to "convey your interest in such and such subject through extracurriculars." Do it because you love it, or you won't enjoy it. The fact that it looks good is a sort of bonus.

For me one thing was mentoring little kids in music (trumpet/very basic theory). I love music. It's fun. I looked forward to those 2 hours on thursdays. Only in the back of my mind was the notion that it was helping me get into college. That's how it should be.

Yeah admissions folk are real good at seeing through crappy EC's that your or some "ivy league admissions expert" prick hand-picked to beef out your anemic resume. It's their job, you know. That said, does your county have Teen Court? I did it for 5 years (Started in 8th grade, long before i even thought about college), and it was cool. Plus, having recommendation letters from circuit court judges and the state attorney's office doesn't look half bad either.

perro, what are you talking about?!? we are the "ivy league admissions experts!" :D:p

that is indeed true, i could get a job with one of those preppy rich kid high schools...
