Can anyone tell me something about the availability of biology research opportunities in Chicago for undergrads, particularly in biotech? Is it feasible at all for freshman students to get involved?

Is anybody out there?

Most of the bio majors I know are second years. Most of them have done (and some are currently doing research). Not sure about biotech specifically.

I’m a first year doing research. I came in with no high school experience at all, and I actually got multiple offers to work in labs. It is very feasible. I know a couple other first years who also have research jobs.

If you have work-study, you can find a work-study research position. If you don’t, offer to volunteer when you email professors.

Thanks to both!!

Here’s just one website you might want to check out: https://frogs.uchicago.edu/researchopportunities/index.cfm
