Opportunity Programs- What does this mean?

Dear ____,

We are considering your application for one of Columbia University's
opportunity programs. In order to determine if you are eligible, we
would need to see a copy of your parents' 2005 tax forms. If they have
not filed yet, then we would need to review a copy of their estimated
taxes and/or copies of their W-2 forms, 2004 tax forms, and any other income received in
the household.

Please fax the requested information by Friday, to my attention at ----- and please respond upon receipt of this message
Thank you in advance for your attention to this important matter.

I got the same letter for opportunity programs and was interviewed. I was so nervous. Congrats to you. I hope we both make it in!!!! You see, I went to a scholarship program 'Al Neuharth, Founder of USA Today Free Spirit Scholarship' and at the award dinner there were some big names in journalism, politics and education. and among them was the preisdent of Columbia! I actually had to sit next to him! and we talked and I told him about my situation and you know how he like isn't allowed to say much in it, but he just smiled, asked for my name like 3 times and was like 'Well I look forward to seeinmg you next fall'.....I am too excited now.

AH! I am still worrying! I don't care if I don't get NOP because I know I am not as poor as some people, but I want that recommendation to be admitted!!!

That may be true but hey, anyone would love a full ride :)

Ok is there anyone out there that has received this opportunity program from Columbia. Did they get the e-mail before decisions were mailed out too?
