Optional Essay Idea

<p>Hi everyone,
I'm a junior this year so this is just a question for when I write the optional essay next fall. I just want to ask it now so I don't forget, lol. </p>

<p>From what I understand, one can write on anything for the optional essay. Would it be unwise to use a past topic from the U of Chicago essay topics? I think all UofC's essay topics are fantastic and would really get the creative juices out of me. This will be a past topic obviously, but I am speculative whether or not this idea will "fly" with admissions officers?</p>

<p>D did not write any new essay’s for her Harvard application. Everything was re-used from another application. The whole thing took her about 45 minutes. She is a current sophomore. If you write a quality essay, it would be a shame to not use it as many times as you can. Good luck!</p>
