<p>Many students are admitted to Harvard WITHOUT submitting the optional essay. It all depends on whether you have any additional information to add to your file, something that has NOT been included, or expanded upon, with the rest of your application. If nothing comes to mind, then don’t submit an optional essay just for the sake of submitting something extra, as oftentimes that fails.</p>
