Optional Essay

Hi, every one!
One of the optional essay is about something you created. I'm just wondering what's the definition of "create" here? Does it have to be original? For example, if you googled the idea you "created" (you did come up with this idea by yourself) and found similar things, would your idea still be counted as created by yourself?

Thanks!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I don't think it has to be original nor does it have to be something you did all by yourself.

Thanks! Mathmom
But I just want to make sure about this

andy_tok, don't think of that (optional!) question as one where the Admissions folks are evaluating your creative project: think of it as a place in which to tell them about something that excited you, that sparked creative juices in you, that pushed you in a new direction. They're not going to grade whether your project was original or solo: they want to learn more about you and what makes you tick, and this essay is an opportunity to show them something new about yourself. Make up your own definition of "create".

Thanks!Mootmom
That really helps. I guess I got what u mean here.

As Long As You Didn't Write The Essay Like You Did That Post, Yes.

:P

If I wrote none of the optional essays, would that really hurt my application?

nah b! if not having them would hurt you they wouldn't be optional, right? from what I've heard, the more you can say with fewer sheets of paper is better
