I am not sure whether this thread is already on here or not, so please do not get mad at me. I am applying using the Common App, and the JHU Supplemental essays are optional. Am I better off doing only one optional essay if my other one is really bad, or send in the really bad essay too. I do not want a bad essay to hurt my chances, when it was "optional" in the first place.

Do the $10 dollar essay for sure... that's their main essay and I'm sure they want to see it...

Do them. Do them. Do them. This IS the JHU essay. And remember, you aren't restricted to just an essay! The 2nd essay is less important, but still, on the regular JHU application it's required. So your call :p

You are only required to do the common app. essay -- but you are strongly strongly strongly encouraged to submit the 2 JHU essays, either in addition to or in lieu of the ca essay.

someone told me:
no 10$ essay=no admission
is that true???

No that is not true. Applicants will be admitted who do not submit the $10 essay. However, when something is strongly recommended, it basically means you should do it!

ok ok.
i will. i am applying rd.
