Can you submit the photo if you’re applying online? I can’t seem to find it. Also, is it possible to submit Part I of the app online and mail in Part II? Thanks.

The photo can be uploaded in Form 3 of the application online.
You can do Part 1 online and mail in Part 2, lots of people do that.

What pictures are you guys using? I'm curious. (:

i was lame and did yrbk hahaha

I had one with 2 of my other friends

we did this one thing at the beginning of senior year with our photo ids

interesting

Hmm, do you think they'd like a candid picture (er, not so much candid as casual) or something like a senior portrait?

thanks jenz :) i'm thinking they would like an interesting, casual photo that shows something about you better than a senior portrait, but just my opinion.

I think y'all may be overthinking this; I've heard it's just a way for Brown to give your alumni interviewer some way of being able to see who they need to be looking for at the meeting place. But, again, that's just what I've heard.

Plus, if you really want to analyze the application, you'll notice that the box space on the paper application is quite small, leaving just enough room for your upper body (if you had youself and friends in that small space, they wouldn't be able to see you clearly). Also, the photo box says "an informal snapshot is ACCEPTABLE," meaning that a formal snapshot is preferred.

Anyway...um...yeah...

they just want to be able to place a face to the name. there are more important things to stress out over.

Well, Brown is the ivy with the most beautiful people.

I'm not suggesting anything. Don't look at me ;)

I posted a picture of myself, very informal, playing the mandolin. i thought it would help show them another side of me, and I didn't think it was too important. I can't imagine getting rejected from Brown (or any other respectable school) because of a bad (or ugly) photo.

I kind of thought it had to do with finding out what race the people are who don't self-report it...but maybe that's just me being suspicious.

lol Peugeot, I had that same thought...I don't think I reported my race but I sent in a photo. Kind of dumb in retrospect.
