Optional SAT at Bates College

I understand that Bates college gives you the option of whether or not you submit your standardized scores. And I also understand that it makes sense to submit your scores when they depict a coherent picture of the applicant along with his or her extracurriculars, essays, etc. But if they dont boost your application, then there is no need to.

So I thought maybe I shouldn't send in my SAT(1990/2400) and SAT2 (Math2: 770/Chem: 640) because I dont find it as much of a boost to my application and instead I'll try writing spectacular essays. But then being an international student, I dont think 1990 is that bad. And I guess my SAT 2 Chem isn't too bad... So I feel like I should just send my scores in and see what happens. But then I trip out and think again of how it COULD make a difference in leaving my scores behind and going only with the essay, ECs(waterpolo, cross country, swimming, california scholarship federation, korean, interact, chargerettes, math, link crew, science camp leader), and my 4.1 weighted GPA.

What should I do?

Btw, this is for a spring admission so they are selecting less people than they normally do
-_-

Is Bates like really really selective?
