Hi, I was wondering if anyone heard of students not having to take a college’s admission criteria of tests? My family and I were in a pizza parlor and were next to a group of teenagers discussing colleges, etc. One was saying that a very sought after football player got flown a number of places and was “wined and dined” so to speak, before selecting a university to play at. She went on that he didn’t take the SAT ll tests that they were supposed to take. Someone else asked why, the score probably wouldn’t of mattered, and she said, he didn’t take any and the time had run out for results. Then someone else said that they heard of someone that applied to a Penn. school that required 2 tests and only did one. Their grades, recs, etc. were excellent (beyond the athetic ability) and they let it go. Now this is all heresay, but I wondered how strict the criteria is and if this was true, just a fluke?

dont think just anyone can get away with it. the whole recruited athlete thing is corrupt. but its just as unfair as AA, taking more people from under-represented states, etc.

who knows about that story though...
