Optional Update Form

I just downloaded it this afternoon, and I haven't won any major awards or honors since I sent in my application, nor can I think of any unusual circumstances or other pertinent information for evaluating my application!

This means I'm leaving 2/3 of the form blank.

What kinds of things should be mentioned as "unusual circumstances or other pertinent information?"

Are they expecting more awards, etc.?

Thanks!

I do not think that anything needs to be sent in. I was under the impression that since Stanford does not like any additional information, ONLY if you have something to add to your original application is when that form is filled out and sent to them. If nothing has changed, then you don't do anything except wait until final decision.

can we submit this even if we didn't apply scea?

or should we not use this form and write a letter updating them on recent awards. or should i not send anything at all? i'm sending updates to all my other schools, but i'm especially wary about stanford since i know they don't like additional info (i recently won a national award...)

Should we say anything if we are now NMF? (they know i was a NMSF)

same question.

also, this may sound stupid, but how do we write our update letter? 'dear stanford, i have recently been notified that i am a national merit finalist...'

that just sounds funny, any suggestions? i'm been pondering this for a while now...

Dear Stanford,

I'm NMF MOTHA ****AS!!! YAYAYAY!

Sincerely,

I think it's just for deferred kids from SCEA, 'cause the link on the Stanford Undergrad website reads "07-08 Restrictive Early Action Optional Update Form". Also, it's not a letter unless you opt to send one along with it, and there's a space on the form for new awards.

So I think you can just bullet it. :]

is there any way to send this form in online, or should I do it via snailmail?

I might fax, Steve! I can't seem to find a way to do it online. :[
