Although not very well publicized, WUSTL allows applicants to submit an optional 90 second video with their application. My son sent in his ED application on 11/1. Is it too late to submit one? Should he bother since he does not have a special skill (like piano playing) that showcases well in a video? What kinds of topics do kids do? Just trying to determine if this will help his application or is it truly “optional”.
It’s truly optional and is due by 11/15. It’s also 90 seconds long, so it’s pretty time-limited
90 seconds? What would anyone be able to show of any substance in 90 seconds? Just curious.
My WashU student did one a few years back and did not do anything fancy, just talked into the camera about themselves/interests - just highlighted things that were not necessarily academic in nature or included on the application otherwise.

My D21 submitted (and was accepted in RD round) and just talked about her hobby (not academic) it was just a glimpse into her personality really.

I’m not meaning to be contrary…but in 90 seconds…what were they able to do?
