Options for a CS and Econ Joint Degree

Hi, I'm applying as an undergrad freshman this year, and I'm looking into a lot of schools like NYU and Lehigh that have joint/dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics. These degrees aren't quite like double majoring, your degree will be a dual degree and not act as two separate degrees.

I'm wondering if that'll limit my options after graduation. Will I be limited to quant-related fields, or can I pursue something wholly CS based like software development, or wholly Econ based? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through one of these programs or knows anything on the subject.

Thanks!

No. It won’t limit anything.

A lot of what kind of jobs choices you have after graduation are determined less by your major and more by what kind of work experience you have. So, for example, if you did 3 software internships at companies like Microsoft during your summers, when you graduate you probably will be more limited (but not completely limited) to getting jobs at companies like Microsoft.
