So I'm majoring in Animal Science, so I know that much of my courses will be in related fields, but I know that there are some options for people like me (non-music majors) who want to take courses in the arts, esp music. I play the drums...I'm pretty good right now, but I want to learn more like technical skills and different styles like jazz dumming. I'm aware of the various ensembles, but I'm not sure that I want to agree to that type of commitment to a group. Ideally, I would just like to take a course that teaches drum styles and drum skills...but I didn't find much of that on the school website. I also wanted to get a better grasp on the guitar. Are there courses in single instruments? Any info on this would be great, or if you could point in the right direction of who to ask. Thanks :)

There are non-credit guitar courses offered through the arts and learning center in the stamp student union…and the prices are usually really reasonable. I don’t know about drums.

I was under the impression that the 100-level classes called “ensemble” without permission required to join aren’t actually ensembles in the sense that they have performances, but that the class is led in that style. (I could be COMPLETELY wrong though!) Not sure if any of those interest you.

Okay, thanks for your help, guys!
