Hey guys, almost done with community college transfer option requirements and I am looking to transfer after this coming year, I have about 5 courses left sitting at a 3.5 gpa currently. Gpa is definitely dropping a bit after calc 2 and physics this semester but tbh I could care less. Anyways I was planning to transfer to UMass Boston because I live in Boston but I have heard some negative things about the overall education quality ( which I think is mostly bs) and have also heard that there president of UMass doesn’t care very much about the Boston campus and financial cuts will usually hit Boston before Amherst and the other schools. I could probably get into Amherst but I live in downtown Boston so don’t really want to go out west. What are my options here? Gpa will probably drop to a 3.4 after this semester so not sure if I have a shot at BU or Northeastern. With my goal it’s kind of like I just missed the chance of getting into a good private school and my best option it’s UMass Amherst but I don’t feel like going all the way out there. This is for computer science btw, I would like to have a career in biotech. I need to find my best option education wise where the school has a good biology and computer science program. Any input would be great.
With my GPA***

If you like UM Boston, and the program there works for your goals, transfer there.
- Look for public Universities in your state…they are the most likely to accept all your credits.
- Decide what is more important…living in Boston or going to the flagship location of UMass.
