What does one do with a phd in the biological sciences? Other than academia?
Would industry related jobs give the same importance to a masters degree?

From the few industry jobs that I've looked at in the biological sciences- most only require a masters. However, they tend to equate a PhD with extra years of experience in the field, so I would imagine it helps quite a bit.

Biotech comes to mind. Or, if you go into defense, some contractors have biodefense programs and the like, which I guess is a subset of biotech.
