optometry?

<p>I don't know if there's an optometry forum and don't feel like looking for it. A friend of mine is considering optometry as opposed to premed and she made it sound very appealing. 50% acceptance rate same as medschool admissions, lower average GPA, doesn't know anything about the test but no MCAT sounds good, and you still get to interact with patients. </p>

<p>Out of curiosity, does anyone know anything or have any opinions on optometry as a career? I've never considered it before but I certainly can start now.</p>

<p>No thanks. If eyes are your interest, go right ahead, but it just seems very mundane to me.</p>

<p>I personally wouldn’t consider it simply for the fact that it may be easier to get into optometry school than med school. Def the wrong reason to spring for it.</p>
