orchestra and physics at SLU?

Hi:

My son is looking for a school that has a strong physics dept. and a "low wall" but high quality orchestra to play the clarinet in. Before we hike all the way up to your beautiful area, can anybody chime in as to how the music scene and science is up there? He is looking at a few engineering schools and a few LACs that offer 3/2 or 4/1 programs.

Thank you in advance!

-Shelly

Shelly,
Well we have some great new facilities for both the sciences and music. We are just finishing up a new recital hall for the music department and in 2007 we opened the Johnson Hall of Science, a 36 million dollar science facility. We have opportunities for your son to play music and continue his interest in the sciences!
