Sax, my computer did the same thing. It said 15 minutes, then 6, then 10! After I changed my internet options (see post#10) it went back down to 6, then I got the verification screen and I was able to get the tickets. I'm really sorry for those who didn't get tickets.

my son got tix - but I ran into a friend at work and she mentioned her daughter (who will be a senior next year) was not as lucky even though she went on at 9. Many of her friends were also not able to get tickets.

From 13 days to 59 minutes. Wow. I think all the hype this year really raised visibility. IMO - They really should allocate more to the students.

Sorry to all of you out there who didn't make it. You still should be able to get into all but the most popular games (ND and Mich will be tough).

Sax - my son was complaining about the message going from "1 minute left" to "15 minutes left". Very frustrating! But at least it finally worked.

well you have 40,000 students going to University Park, and then another 30,000 at branch campuses, who I believe are eligible to buy tickets too.
And you have 21,000 tickets available.

i went on at 9 and it took about 10 minutes to search and submit everything, i guess i got lucky...it went from like 1 minute at the beginning to 15 at max and thenm back down

Was lucky enough to score him tx. (he was also at work) but I was ready to put my fist through the computer when it kept jumping around. So thanks for telling me it just wasn't my stupid computer. I swear it kept refreshing the page with out me touching anything..

I really believe they will have so many unhappy students that the process will change again next year. I also think 80,000 alumni tx. is way too many but I get the whole financial picture thing.

For you guys without tx, my son's freshman friend went to every game last year although he never got season tx. at the beginning. So take heart. He just kept working it.

They go on sale in July after the alumni sale.

We went to a game a few years ago, I think they were $55 each about 10 rows from the top in the end zone.

Do they sell those in a set for the entire season?

I do not think so. are you asking for your parents? Or yourself? because keep in mind the seats for "alumni" and "open to the public" are not in the student section. And while it is fun just to be at the game, to get the best experience you should be in the student section. I think you can move around a bit in the stadium but generally freshman sit with the freshman, seniors with seniors, public with public. It is not wide open to move around like in a pro football stadium.

Yeah, I want them for myself.

yes, you do not want the public seats, you want student seats. as sax said, you can get them before the games. I think it may be hard to get them all, and certain ones may be really difficult (Ohio State) but you should be able to go to some football games.

I was on at 9AM also and waited for over 50 minutes on the "Searching" page before I told they were gone. Right now the student tickets at various locations are going for over 1,200. That is ludicrious.

You will be able to get tickets, at a reasonable price (may not be student section) for all but 2 games (ND and OSU). Anyways, do not go blowing your money on these people that do note care about the team and just got them so they could "screw" their fellow students that actually care to go.

Regarding the post before, ND (mainly subway fans) will be the toughest ticket to get UNLESS we are undefeated when OSU comes into HV.

Just spend the big bucks for those 2 games and the rest should not set you back that far. Obviously it will set you back more than if we used strictly.

I follow PSU football a ton, and most of the forums I check out has TONS of students that failed to get the verification page after the "Searching page."

Students at Craiglist, ebay, and other sites are offering to sell a pen and get "free" season tickets around $1,100 (they think that it is illegal to do this, however it is not and most get by without getting in trouble for doing this).

I disagree. My D won't be giving hers up for any price whatsoever; she wants to go to the games!

I have been monitering the Philadelphia Craigslist site for the past (almost) 24 hours; so far the only posts are for those seeking tickets (willing to pay up to $500). I haven't been able to search on ebay, though, every time I do a search it bounces me off the site.

So at this point, it looks like not many students are willing to give theirs up. I'm sure eventually some students will sell theirs because of conflicts, etc. Isn't there a ticket exchange service up at UP?

Yeah your daughter and I am sure the majority of anyone that has a ticket to any game will not want to give up their ticket.

I sure as heck would not give up any of mine.

However, I just transfered into main for this fall semester. So, I could not receive tickets in any ways. But, I have been to almost every home Penn State game(all the good ones) since junior year in high school. If you really want tickets, you will find them.

ND and OSU will put you back a lot more than the $190 ticket price. The other games except maybe for Wisconsin you can probably find around face value. Unless you really have $1000+ to buy season tickets from these Staters that just bought them to scalp them off, I would not suggest it. FIU, Buffalo you will definitely be able to find less than face value (even though FIU is the first game of the season). Iowa wont be to hard, along with Purdue.

My D knows a couple of rising seniors who, thinking they would have plenty of time to buy their tix, didn't get up early enough Thurs. morning. Now they're out of luck. It's a shame.
