Does the day I submit my application matter in terms of the order in which they read my application? I know some schools read applications in the order they're received, which give a slightly better chance for earlier applicants.

Princeton and Harvard sent reps to my city for a college night thing, and they said they start reading applications after december 1 in the order they're received.. but in terms of being admitted first, this has really no impact... all the apps get read once by an admissions person for each state when they come in, and then again after that by the same person.. then some of the stronger ones are sent to a small group of regional adcoms for a grouping of state (i.e. arkansas, texas, mississippi, louisiana, plus 1 or 2 more states, in my case) for another screening.. then the strongest applications are sent to a panel of about 30 or so adcoms, and they screen the apps twice and finally pick the final apps for the entering class (2013 in our case, of course)

you can imagine why this process takes about 3 months to do

that's what they said, i'm almost positive, so in this case, as long as you get it sent in before the deadline, you're fine
