Ordering textbooks

Is anyone else having the problem we are having trying to order books online?

We went to the AU Bookstore site to check out the books S will need for his classes this fall and wrote down title/author/ISBN # etc., and then tried to find the books on half.com and amazon–neither site could find books with the ISBN #s given on the AU Bookstore site.

Anyone have any suggestions other than just ordering from the AU Bookstore? Certainly the easiest, but I’m sure not the most economical.

I ordered from Amazon with no problem. Did you check the textbook site?

I am. My sister works for the college textbook department of B&N. She’s ordering all my stuff but some of the ISBNs AU has given don’t match the ISBNs on the database.

It’s all rather frustrating trying to find the right book, edition, volume etc. with the little information available on the AU bookstore website. One of my Chem textbooks doesn’t even have a title, for example.

Okay I think I should panic now! The only AU book i have with me right now is the Community Text!! :O

Haha, no worries, you’re supposed to get all your books at school anyway. Some people like to order them early to save money.

Websites like Amazon.com and Half.com have them. But, I wouldn’t advise international students to go down that road just yet if they’re still overseas cuz it can take 6 weeks for them to arrive.

hehe lol I have an aunt in MD maybe I’ll order em on Amazon or whatever n hav em mailed there… but the AU books n others don’t have that big of a price difference… for my stuff anyway… :S @cdover i added on msn! haha lol random i kno

My d ordered her textbooks thru the AU bookstore, but about half of them are backordered. Should she be looking elsewhere? Will the profs expect her to have books that aren’t available at the school’s bookstore?

Most Profs understand if the bookstore has it on backorder. I believe the library has copies of all textbooks available (or they’re supposed to) Most of the time you’ll find someone to share with and maybe even start a new friendship–it all works out!
