Oregon State help!!

I live in Texas, but I am really wanting to go out of state for college, and the one that I am looking at the most is Oregon State. And I was wondering if anybody had any comments/advice on how to guarantee acceptance? I'm a junior in high school with an unweighted gpa of 3.6 and weighted of 4.2. I need advice! I'm looking to be a natural science major and go into the field of geology or ecology.

If you maintain your high GPA and get a good SAT or ACT score, you will very likely get admitted.

however, that can sometimes only be half the problem. Going to an OOS public can be very expensive.

OSU costs about $35k per year. Will your parents pay that much? If not, then you’ll have to carefully choose colleges that will work for you?

Did you take the PSAT? If so, how did you do on that?

When will you be taking the SAT or ACT (take both)

Admission shouldn’t be very difficult for you. The median SAT is 1565 / 2400 - just slightly over the national average - and the average GPA for accepted students is 3.47. As M2CK said, the bigger issue is likely to be affordability. OOS tuition and fees at Oregon State are $20,442 compared to in-state tuition and fees at (for example) Texas Tech of $4,280.
