Organizations/fundraising

For all the spectacular students who have started an organization/raised tons of money for an organization, how did you do it? I don't even know where to start. I'd really like to do something with the local children's hospital but I can't think of anything. I had an idea to try and get a group of kids to be pen pals with the patients, but it feels sort of limited, and then there is the issue of getting the names of kids, which I'm pretty sure the hospital would not release. Also, I go to a Catholic school and there is alwaysss some type of fundraising going on, so I'm not sure they would be willing to let me do my own thing either.

Help??

Thanks.

Any type of project is a good project. :)

See, you already have an idea! Talk to hospital administration and your school administration, and see if it will fly. If not, ask your school's administration what kind of fundraising/charity work they'd permit, or take your causes outside of school.

From my experience with community service, the most important and hardest resource to obtain is volunteers.

If you can find a large number of students to help organize and act as pen pals, then everything else will come together.
