I helped move my daughter in to UCLA yesterday and I was very impressed at how organized and easy the move-in was. There were lots of student move-in assistants who were very helpful. Even the elevator (DeNeve) situation was good. I really expected a bit of a nightmare given the size of UCLA and the fact that all the dorms are in the same general area but there was really no problem at all.

Also - we moved in about 2 hours before the designated time and had no problems with it - nobody questioned us on it.

To all of you student move-in assistants on CC - thanks for doing such a good job.

Thanks! But thank you for being so nice! I met so many great parents these past fews days that have been so supportive not only of their own kids moving in, but for all the Bruins that have been trying to make move-in a great experience. It almost makes me want to stick around the dorms for my 4th year so that I can help with move-in next year!

We had the same great experience as ucsducladad when we helped our son move into Hedrick Summit yesterday. If we had any questions there was always a friendly helpful student assistant right there to help. Everything ran MUCH more smoothly than I had expected.

I just post my thoughts about how organized the move in in another thread. My daughter moved in to SV this Saturday My husband and myself were expecting traffic, crowd, chaos but amazingly none of that happened. Both of us were very impressed with UCLA, the housing dept with their organization. MIAs are everywhere with their smiles and hellos to help the parents and the newbies. They even have refreshments! My d helped her friend moved in to CAL and she told us it is nothing like UCLA. Hats off to all the SV Housing people and I will certainly pass on our move in experience.
