Organizing a TedX Event

Has anyone on here ever organized a TedX event?
If so could you please tell me what it is what like and how you managed to pull it off? I'm interesting in doing one but you know organizing any event like this is not easy.

Sorry about the spelling error, I know it’s written as TEDx not TedX

Oh hey I helped organize one of these events this year. I didn’t do much (served as a delegate from my school and helped with technical stuff), but what I do know is that you need a license from TEDx to host one.

Here’s a helpful link: [Organize An Event](http://www.ted.com/pages/organize_tedx_event)

Thank you Kongo, I have already read through the link. I’m just trying to get an insight as to how realistic it would be for someone my age to pull it off.

Very. The one I helped out at was organized by a 17 year old. He was only a co-licensee, but I think he or his mentor attended a TED event earlier, so they were allowed to organize a city wide event for high school students. I live in a major city (about 1 million people), and 500-700 people attended. You may be able to set one up at your school and invite CEOs of local startups to come and talk.

Wow,that sounds great. Do you remember what the goal of his TED event was and what kind of activities he had set up? I don’t know who to turn to as a mentor. :(

I am applying for a license, too.
