Organizing essay topics into Common App/Supplements

<p>I am using the common application for 7-8 colleges. There are a few activities that I will definitely include, and others, if i have room. </p>

<p>Does the common app essay have to be the same one for all the colleges you apply to?</p>

<p>How do you guys organize your ideas for essays?
Like, if you want to talk about one topic for THE common app, and it comes up again in one college's supplement, what do you do?</p>

<p>And, how do you guys choose which topic to write about in the common app essay? There are so many possibilities, how do you choose "the one"?</p>
